Mistletoe in Art Nouveau

The unusual shapes and cultural associations of European Mistletoe led to extensive use of the plant in European Art Nouveau. The period from the 1890s through to the 1930s produced many high class French and German mistletoe-themed products, from cutlery to furniture and vases to lampshades.

This page shows some of the designs, including art nouveau postcards, silverware, and glass and porcelain ware. Many of the famous art nouveau designers and factories produced mistletoe products - including Daum and Lalique. Some of their material is show towrads the bottom of the page.
